I was interested in buying a '98 Volkswagen Passat, I found one for an amazing price but when I looked for reviews online, all I got was: "German Engineering = Crap", "Best if you don't bother", etc.
I am by no means
German Engineering = Best cars on the road....aside from the early B5 and Mk4 VWs
Stay away from that Passat unless you happen to become a mechanic or don't mind spending what you bought the car for on maintenance as soon as you take it
