Owners of pre-owned certified BMWs, do you need to show maintenance records to have the warranty honored?

My factory warranty ran out, but the pre-owned warranty has 2 years/50k miles left. If I need a repair, will I have to show maintenance records to have the warranty honored? I'd rather do things like brakes and oil changes myself, rather than pay, especially
