distributor honda prelude - car lemon checks

my Honda Prelude is blowing distributors because of some electrical problem, does anybody have any ideas what ?

The car was missing and popping occasionally then it would clear, then one day it stopped totally, the RAC said suspected distributor failure, i bought donor car which was British model (problem car is Japanese import) and put distributor from that one

If you smell gas then its not the ecu. Take the spark plug out and put it in the spark plug wire. start crank the engine if you see spark and smell gas then it’s a different ball game locate the scs connector under the glove box and bridge the wires
