Why do people bad mouth North American cars so much?

I don't get it. My family has owned GM's since the 80's (I'm born in 1992) and now I drive a 97 Grand AM and we have NEVER had a serious problem with any of them. We have bought a couple of Japanese cars (Honda's, Suzuki's, Mazda's, Nissan's) over the
