race car problem and distance?
A race car accelerates at a constant acceleration for 15m/s^2 for 10 seconds. It then continues on for another 25 seconds at a constant velocity. It then begins a uniform deceleration using a parachute and a breaking system and comes to rest 8 seconds
You do it in 3 parts....
first part for acceleration....
s = 1/2 a t^2
s = 1/2 * 15 * 10^2 = 750 metres.
2nd bit....
v = u + at
v = 0 + 15 * 10 = 150 m/s
150 m/s for 25 seconds
