How do i reset my check engine light on my 99 Honda CR-V?

I went to get my car inspected two days ago and I failed because my check engine light was on. They gave me the diagnostic trouble code and I looked up online that it was my gas cap causing my check engine light to be on. So i went to walmart and bought

Go to an auto parts store and they will reset it, after you explain you made the repair.
