How dangerous is it to lower your car by cutting springs?

I have looked high and low to do it the correct way (lowering spring kit) and have only found one kit, made by Eibach that only offers 1" front and rear of drop. For $350 it doesn't seem worth it.

Apparently Dodge Shadow's aren't popular

Depending on your driving conditions. It screws with the manufacturers spring rate. If your doing hectic driving, like on a track, or weaving through traffic, there'll be a problem. if your daily driving, go for it... make sure to cut them evenly

One handsome house on the tour is the home of Katina and Kenneth Venuto. Theirs is a showcase of sensitive, well-planned design and a taste for elegant furnishings from the late Victorian era.

The couple lives on a corner lot in a residence built in 1905 by a stonemason who was employed at the Naval Academy during the construction of Bancroft and Dahlgren Halls in the early 20th century. The yellow brick used on the two-and-a-half-story building's facade is similar to that on the interior of Dahlgren Hall. Behind the yellow brick, the building is completely lined with red brick. The white granite blocks used for the window sills and heads are similar to that used for Bancroft Hall's facade.

In the rear of the property is a two-car garage nearly as old as the residence.

The Venutos have owned the property since 1998, and extensively renovated the home, garage and landscaping within the past two years. "We re-did the house once the kids were out of college," Katina said.
